It's a great spot to learn about the local gay community and kick off the evening.

#3. If you’re a queer traveller, you’ll find Munich to be a friendly and accepting destination, with plenty of sights to see, food to eat, and events to attend. Look for the rainbow flags and busy doorways, and you'll be good!

So, here are a few of the best gay clubs and bars in Munich -

#1.

Hotel Isartor

A trendy hotel at the heart of the Munich gay district if you prefer not to stay at a gay hotel in Munich.

The crowd is mainly older individuals and bears who enjoy beer. LGBTQIA+ visitors will appreciate the park’s relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, as well as its many attractions, including the Japanese Tea House and the Monopteros temple. Although there are not as many specifically gay bars and clubs here as there were in the 1980s and '90s, there are several venues in the area which always attract a good crowd. Younger revellers in particular are very comfortable partying in mixed bars these days.

Freddie Mercury has danced here! Here are three options that will make your stay in this fabulous city even more memorable:

RUBY LILLY HOTEL & BAR

Located in the heart of Munich, Ruby Lilly Hotel & Bar is a stylish and modern hotel that’s perfect for LGBTQIA+ travelers. There is the Rosa Wiesn for example, a series of gay Oktoberfest events which traditionally kick off on the first Sunday of the festival, which is known as Gay Sunday.

Jenny DANCES

A new version of the Jennifer Park bar is now Munich's largest gay party. Queer movie night at the Arena cinema takes place on the second Wednesday of every month, while Mongay at the City cinema sees a gay film screened every Monday. Though it's not a particularly big place, when the karaoke gets going the atmosphere here is like no other!

Bar Ochsengarten has survived through the gentrification of the neighbourhood, having opened as Germany’s first leather fetish bar for men in 1967 – and you can still have a great evening here!

May and early June give you warm weather and fewer crowds, great for terrace season. A younger, more eccentric crowd can be found at the regular She-Lanight, which takes place in the G3 Club & Lounge. Other key events for gay women include the Pink Heaven parties for very young guests.

The guesthouse features cozy rooms and a lovely courtyard where guests can relax and unwind.

Address: Reichenbachstraße 8, 80469 München, Germany

Hotel Am Markt

Situated in the historic city center, Hotel Am Markt is a cozy hotel that offers friendly staff and comfortable rooms.

The hotel’s sleek design, central location, and friendly staff make it an ideal base for exploring the city’s nightlife and cultural attractions. A beautiful 1880s opera house has been renovated to offer a top-notch stay with a mix of oriental and German styles. Check out the famous NY.Club, a top spot in the gay club scene.

The Sub centre also organises many regular events, such as the colourful Hans-Sachs-Strasse street party, which attracts 2.000 visitors and has become a highlight for the entire city. Held on warm summer days in August, the event fills the streets with dancing, drinking and celebration. The Charles Hotel is a top choice among visitors to Munich and is just a 15-minute stroll away from all the gay bars in town.

#5.

Visit on Friday for a mix of Pop, Charts, Black, HipHop, and Disco music with LuxusPop, or on Saturday for NY.Club with Uplifting Progressive, Vocal, and Tribal House music.

#10. Another highlight of the year is the Pink Christmas gay and lesbian Christmas market, where visitors can expect to enjoy mulled wine, bratwurst and Christmas music, as well as Schlager music shows, drag artists and a prosecco bar.
