Things didn’t end well for any of them romantically, and they have since all gone their separate ways.
Completing The Acronym
It wasn’t long until GH introduced a bisexual character and a transgender character, respectively.
However, it was her latter role that will be remembered by many — as well as her and Chase’s 2023 Nurses Ball performance and chemistry.
Chase worried about Blaze every time Linc was around, due to the fact that he was a predator, and though Brook Lynn convinced him to stand back — and said they needed to destroy Linc on the down low — the Quartermaine stood up for Blaze at this year’s Nurses Ball and humiliated him in front of the entire town.
“And with that, my arc on General Hospital has come to an end,” Lopez later shared on her Instagram and talked about how she felt “a little overwhelmed walking off set” on her final day.
Blaze first turned up in November 2022, when she appeared at Charlie’s Pub and introduced herself to Chase and Brook Lynn. His coming out coincided with National Coming Out Day on October 11 of that year.
Natalia hasn’t been quiet about her homophobic views, but has recently begun to slowly turn around after noticing the way her daughter and Kristina truly love each other.

After a teenaged Lucas endured coming out to friends and family, a hate crime, disownment from his mother Bobbie (ex-Jacklyn Zeman – here’s how GH said goodbye), and counseling before finally being accepted by his dying father Tony (ex-Brad Maule).
After Lucas left Port Charles in 2006, GH didn’t see another queer character until 2012 when the openly gay Felix (Marc Anthony Samuel) and Brad (Parry Shen) were introduced and eventually ended up in a love triangle when Lucas (Ryan Carnes) returned to town.
“I’m so honored to have been a little part of it.”

Fans may not know this but before Lopez arrived in town as Blaze in 2022, she appeared as a babysitter in 2015 and once again in 2016. She had been scheduled to sing with Chase — and creepy Linc immediately believed that they would be a match made in heaven.
Let’s take a look back at the soap’s LGBTQ+ characters and storylines that paved the way for the show’s current fan-favorite same-sex couple, Kristina and Blaze.
Coming Out In 2005
While Jon Hanley (Lee Mathis) was GH’s very first openly gay character, who was the co-chair of the Nurses Ball from 1994-1996 before Mathis’ death from AIDS, the soap did its very first coming out storyline in 2005 when Lucas (then-Ben Hogestyn) came out as gay.
Oh, yes, Linc tried to squirm his way out of Brook Lynn’s accusations but Dante came forward and threw the scumbag out for causing a public disturbance. And on Monday, April 17, Blaze appeared for the last time when she surprised Chase by turning up to speak on his behalf to the review committee. From the get-go, Chase and Blaze bonded and she even revealed that her real name was Allison.
“This amazing TV family works so hard to deliver the best in daytime drama,” she continued. This was the same year GH tackled transphobia when Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Oscar (ex-Garren Stitt) organized an alternative prom when a transgender classmate experienced transphobia regarding the actual prom.
Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) youngest son Aiden (Tristan Riggs) was presumed to be gay back in 2018, but he didn’t officially come out until late 2023 when he revealed his interest in a male classmate to his mom.
The latest member of Port Charles’ queer community is Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), who quickly fell head over heels for Kristina (Kate Mansi), despite her mother Natalia’s (Eva LaRue) objections.

In fact, she credited the role for changing her life in “so many ways” and will forever be grateful for all of the friends she made and how she’s grown as an actress.“Even the dead come back in soaps,” Lopez teased.
