Too bad. In a January 1, 1981, review he said in part:
This movie is, of course, intended as a comedy, and it has some funny moments. But when a movie sets out a create a funny Zorro, that’s bringing coals to Newcastle. They get all kissy-faced, and she calls him Diego. Bunny has changed the color of the Zorro outfit to plum and added tassels to the hat.
They do a funny bit as the dons are introduced. Esteban is taken with Margarita and begins calling her Wiggy as they dance.
Diego talks to Florinda even though she is surrounded by four guards. Esteban is convinced by Diego’s acting as he hides the pain.
While Diego heals, Esteban carries out reprisals on the people. I even remember that he was once played by Clayton Moore, who got to keep wearing his Lone Ranger mask.

Charlotte is still trying to spark a revolution when Diego arrives in the Zooro outfit. A funnier comedy might have been made out of a more genuinely satirical examination of the Zorro character.

I ask because I am just as confused after seeing “Zorro, the Gay Blade,” which stars George Hamilton in a dual role as Don Diego Vega and his twin brother, Bunny. I like to think she was referring to “Aerosmith” and “Boston.”

He escapes by jumping off a high wall but injures his ankle during the landing. He goes a little beyond the Zorro Mark.
A small woman brings in a coffin and says it is from Diego’s father and concerns his destiny.
