Ashley Darby and Michael Darby announce their split

Ashley confirmed her separation from Michael in April of 2022, nearly eight years after they tied the knot.

“When Michael and I said ‘I do,’ we anticipated sharing every single day together from that moment forward,” she announced in an exclusive 2022 statement to The Daily Dish.

“I haven't had any coochie cravings for Michael lately. “There’s no way that I could let a camera crew into my house,” Darby said to Hollywood Life, describing how she felt before they started filming.

“I’ve made jokes and I’ve referenced it in the past to the women. Ugh... We have decided to separate. We didn't do this restaurant to tear ourselves apart; we did it to bring us together.” [sendtonews type="float" key="HNlNVWs76K-2830818-14453"] During the season 2 reunion of RHOP, which aired in July 2017, Ashley revealed she had moved out of her home with Michael as they spent time apart.

I never knew how many conflicting emotions a person has during this."

Ashley also admitted that she would "never say never" to reconciling with her estranged husband one day. Michael denied the allegations.

Karen Huger’s husband, Ray Huger, then alleged that he witnessed Michael “grab” Andy Cohen’s “butt at the reunion” the year prior, but the pair were “kidding around.” Michael called that comment an “unfounded accusation,” while the host said that he didn’t “remember” Michael grabbing him.

Pieces of all these may have affected our pure love for each other, but no one reason is the root cause of our mutual decision to go our separate ways.” Scroll through for a timeline of the pair’s ups and downs:

In between filming seasons 2 and 3, Ashley moved into an apartment in Arlington, Virginia.

Ashley has said she wanted monogamy after having kids and revealed it has caused her to "drift apart" from Michael.

The reality star opened up about the breakdown of her marriage while having a picnic with friends Karen Huger, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon in the latest episode of RHOP.

Gizelle voiced her concern for her friend after hearing about the split, with Ashley revealing the news to the other members of the group.

Karen asked Ashley how her marriage broke down after welcoming her youngest son just last year.

Ashley replied: "I don't drink," before admitting there were other reasons and saying she didn't believe her and Michael were "sexually as compatible anymore".

The TV personality explained: "We had a little incident in Miami where there was a lady who was very interested in me.

And yes, I'm definitely going to make some mistakes.

I’m at the point where I’m like, ‘OK, if it works for you, it works for me.’ So we’re going to have to watch to see how she reacts to it and how she eventually gets to the point where she’s having baby No. 2.”

In the interview, Dixon also added that she “wasn’t surprised” to hear that the Darby’s are expecting another baby.

Michael was interested in that situation and I didn't want that."

Ashley had then told her husband she wanted monogamy, but said this caused them to start "drifting apart".

The star then confused her friends by adding: "He's being very caring. "There's some moments of missing our relationship and when I see him being a really good dad it's like, 'Oh man, could I?

Should I?' because he is still a great dad and a hands-on parent and that's what I find so attractive about him. “Coparenting has been a disaster, quite frankly,” the source explained. “So neither of us were super happy. So I think I’m keeping him happy at home."

Ashley confirmed their split in April 2022 after an insider told Us Weekly that she “was going around saying that her marriage is ending, and she’s about to be on the dating market” at costar Karen’s RHOP: Karen’s Grande Dame Reunion premiere party.

“We are now both at very different stages in our lives and have different goals for our futures.

Sometimes we go out together; sometimes we go on our own, and so I went out and had a good time,” he said on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in August 2021. I saw the man that I wanted to marry; I was like, ‘That’s gonna be my husband.’ He became my husband. He’s not gay. The Potomac mom told ET that she was still single but fully immersed in the dating scene.
